Membership Commitments
As a Thornton chorus member you agree to certain terms and code of conduct. They are as follows:
ATTENDANCE: rehearsals are highly important for a successful and fun concert. We ask that members commit to the weekly Monday night rehearsals (6:45-9:00PM). Should absences occur, you are responsible for practicing your music AND speaking with the section leader prior to the next rehearsal about what was missed. Chronic absenteeism will be addressed on an individual basis. We ask that during rehearsals you respect the time we have since it is limited. If you are ever going to miss a rehearsal or be late, please let us know via email or text. You can either contact your section leader directly or email us through the members webpage.
MUSIC RESPONSIBILITIES: You are responsible for maintaining the quality of your music. While taking notes in your music is encourage, please write WITH PENCIL ONLY. You are responsible for returning all loaned music at the end of the season. This includes xeroxed copies. If you do not return your music, or it is return damaged in any way, you may occur a fee to help cover the cost of replacing your music.
COMMUNICATION is key. We make every effort to communicate with you so you are in the loop, please do the same. Let us know if you have questions, concerns or even suggestions for the chorus.
For all your music questions and absences please let your Section Leader know.
For questions or concerns beyond music, please speak with a board member.
For concerns about emails, dues, or shirt orders please speak with Kaye.
For missing music please speak to our librarians Eleanor or Steve.
You are always welcome to speak to the director after rehearsals as well if you have questions for him specifically.
